So I have officially booked my first few flights and I swear my finger hovered above the "Complete Your Booking" button longer than I thought it would! I am booked to head to see Kurt down in Jacksonville, Florida for about 3.5 weeks and from there, I will fly to Medellín, Colombia!

The biggest hurdle I am trying to overcome is that in Panama and Costa Rica, they need proof of exit when you enter into their countries. So this means, I have to book a flight AWAY from some location at some point. I just keep thinking... but where from? Do I want to just aim big and plan to travel through eight countries in four months (that's pretty darn fast!) or should I slow it down and only make it my goal to make it to say, Honduras?
Of course my plans will change along the way, but here is what I am thinking right now:
COLOMBIA: I am hoping I will stay here around 3.5-5 weeks starting in Medellin then working through to Santa Marta and Cartagena. From there, I will sail away from Colombia through the gorgeous San Blas islands to land in Panama!
PANAMA: I was in Panama about 6 years ago now and absolutely loved it! I know I don't want to spend much time in Panama City (maaaaybe a day to sleep?) but then will likely head up to Bocas Del Toro for a few days, perhaps down to Boquete and then cross over into Costa Rica. Overall, I don't think I will spend longer than 7-10 days in Panama.
COSTA RICA: Ah the Pura Vida lifestyle of Costa Rica! While I love it here and it is a surfers paradise, it is just so much more expensive than the surrounding countries. Like Panama, I was here about 6 years ago and saw the Caribbean and southern side of the country. This time around, I would love to visit the legendary Cloud Forest and then cross up into Nica!
NICARAGUA: Now I was just in Nica back in February of 2019 - so at time of writing, only 9 months ago. LOVED this place - could have spent so much more time here exploring so I think I will hang in San Juan Del Sur a few days, head up to Granada again and then continue heading North to make my way into Honduras.
HONDURAS: Technically, this would come AFTER Guatemala, but I was a dummy and didn't realize that El Salvador wasn't connected to Nica when I started looking at the logistics of my travel plans. Basically, I want to take a bus from Northern Nicaragua through to El Salvador within a day and that's about it. I am hoping that I can make a group of friends when I travel who are heading out to Utila for some extra safety but I won't do it alone. We shall see!
EL SALVADOR: I am a sucker for beautiful beaches and the coast lifestyle (perhaps because I have been living in a land-locked, freezer my whole life?) so I plan to soak up the sun and get some surfing practice here in beautiful El Salvador.
GUATEMALA: Once I beach it up for a while, I hope to get a bit more grounded and explore some yoga retreat options in the cooler terrain of Guatemal!
BELIZE: Finally, before I head back to Jacksonville, I would love to head to the stunning Caye Caulker area. Although it’s much more expensive than other areas of Central America, I just love being at the beach!

So that might give you an idea of how I may travel but plans are always changing so we will see what happens when I’m actually on the road!
In the meantime, stay wild friends:
