I am officially done my job on January 17th, 2020! Originally, I thought I was going to be sticking around until May of 2020 but with how things worked out with the girl who will be training into my position, January just was a better fit and honestly... I am not upset about it!
I am not going to be working quite as much for those first couple weeks of January but will be using that time to say goodbye to my family & friends, move out of where I am currently living and then just packing everything up to prepare to leave later that month.
So Where Am I Going? Well, one of my close friends gets married in NYC, USA next June of 2020 so I need to be back in North America for that. Otherwise, I don't have any reason to come home which makes it great to start planning for.
First Stop: Jacksonville, Florida. My friend lives in Florida and so I will be heading down to see him for about 3.5 weeks before I actually begin backpacking. So I’m excited to explore and experience Florida (can someone say DISNEY!?) for a while before I enter the hostel life!
Next Stop: Central America. I think I will start up in Nicaragua again (I was just there this past February) and then make my way North through El Salvador, Honduras (if I can find a group of people to go with), Guatemala and then Belize before flying back to the states to prepare for the wedding. This brings me to about four months of backpacking. So really, that is a pretty quick turnaround for me to be navigating those countries.

Beyond That: Europe! I am excited to fly over the Atlantic to explore EUROPE! I have never been but I am confident in my abilities to navigate that continent... without spending too much money. I have intentions of joining Trusted Housesitters and to house-sit my way through different countries so hopefully experience the communities even more for myself and to even save a bit of money. I keep thinking about Couchsurfing and although I think I could do it, I love being alone far too often so honestly, I don't know if I will go down that route.

Then my plans from there are minimal! I have a few ideas of venturing through to South East Asia again when I am sick of being in expensive Europe, but I think that is the joy of long term travel - I can do anything I want and go anywhere. I am hoping that the money I have saved up is going to be enough for me to stay on the road without having to find work for even a year, but we shall see!
Stay wild,
T
